May 15, 2008 - Here's the latest on
the reunion from Tommy Bingham:
It comes with deep regret that we are going to cancel this summers’ reunion, as for a number of reasons which probably include: Gasoline prices over $3.50 a gallon, air fares going up, up and away, large number of classmates that live in Hobbs still disinterested, and too probably because a year after a year simple get-together is just to much, even though the intent was to have it each year, fully knowing that not everyone from every class would make it each year. We thought when we put this together, with 5 classes combined, and an open invitation to anyone else from any class that we would at least have a conservative number of about 25 folks from each class. As it stands, the paid registrations will not offset the cost of the casino & food, and the cost of Dickie’s band. We truly regret having to cancel, but please understand that the economic reasons behind this decision were the determining factor. For those of you that have already paid, a check will be forthcoming for the amount that you paid, and if you have held a motel in Hobbs with your credit card don’t hesitate to call them and cancel your room. Please forward this message to anyone interested on your distribution email list that we don’t have, and know that we will probably set a date for a future reunion. Regrets, Tom Bingham |
Get-togethers have been held for the last two years and are a fun, laid-back way to reunite with classmates and acquaintances. Dickie Lee Erwin and his band performed for the 2007 get-together.
